About TradeScouter

Discover investment ideas from the traders and investors you trust on X — then get alerted the moment your criteria are met.

What is TradeScouter?

TradeScouter tracks the stock tickers mentioned by top traders and investors on X (formerly Twitter). When a trader profile is added, TradeScouter automatically syncs their tracked tickers and keeps them up to date. From there you can build custom alert lists using AND/OR logic across price, technical indicators, and conviction — so you only get notified about the moves that matter to you.

How it works

1. Discover tickers

Trader profiles are synced and every ticker they mention is added to the universe automatically.

2. Set alert criteria

Combine price, technical, and conviction conditions with AND/OR logic to target exactly what you want.

3. Get alerted

The moment your conditions are met, TradeScouter notifies you instantly.

The SMA50 rules

Every tracked ticker is continuously evaluated against its 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA50) — a key indicator of medium-term trend health. The rules keep trader lists focused on healthy, trending names:

  • 2+ days below SMA50 → the ticker receives a warning flag, signalling weakening momentum so you can investigate.
  • 14 days below SMA50 → the ticker is automatically removed from the trader's tracked lists, keeping the universe clean and actionable.

The result: watchlists that stay focused on trending names instead of accumulating dead weight.

Data sources

  • yfinance — historical and live stock prices, moving averages (EMA 21, SMA 50), and company metadata.
  • Alpaca — real-time market data feed powering live price monitoring and instant alert triggers.

Profile & ticker sync

Trader profiles and their tracked tickers are continuously synced from xprofile.stdigital.dk. This keeps TradeScouter's universe fresh — new mentions and updated follower data flow in automatically without any manual upkeep.
